THE
BANKS BOWLING ASSOCIATION
The
"Banks Bowling Association" was established in 1935, to spread the
interest in the game of bowling amongst employees of the banks.
Membership is open to people employed by, or receiving, or due to receive a
retirement pension from any Bank in the United Kingdom, or who had a
minimum of five years service in a bank. We have an interesting fixture
list with approximately forty one matches against County, Association
or various Club sides, indoor and outdoor during the year.
All members who apply
for match selection are considered on an equal basis, and receive
roughly
the same percentage of games for which they apply, irrespective
of their age or ability.
Being an Association
there is no "Home Ground" as such, but for the few reciprocal fixtures
that are played, the H.S.B.C. Sports and Social Club, (Located at
Leonard Road, New Beckenham, Kent) kindly permit
the use of their facilities.
Most of our 250
members are from
Kent, Surrey and Sussex, but another twenty counties are also represented.
Membership is only
£4.00 per annum.
The Annual Lunch will be held on
Friday 9th November 2012.
The next
Annual General
Meeting will be held on
Monday 19th. November 2012 at H.S.B.C. New Beckenham.
